Consolidated CSO Comments on GSF Draft 1
The following document is a consolidation of civil society contributions and inputs on the First Draft of the GSF, including outcomes from the 2012 civil society Regional Consultations. In the annex section of the document you will find individual NGO/CSO contributions, as well as the CSO statements relating to the GSF during the 2012 FAO Regional Conferences.
Comments have been based on key questions which were posed by the CFS for the online consultation:
Q1. Does the First Draft present key issues of food security and nutrition on which there is broad regional and international consensus?
Q2. Does the list of areas where there are gaps in policy convergence that may be address in the future versions of the GSF need to be amended?
Q3. Does the GSF have sufficient practical regional and country level relevance?
Q4. How can the GSF be related to regional and national food security and nutrition frameworks and strategies, including mechanisms for accountability and monitoring of agreed recommendations and practices, suggesting ways to promote two way coordination and convergence?
The second draft of the GSF will be reviewed and negotiated during the OEWG meeting on June 27 - 29, 2012.
