The Forum prior to the CFS Plenary Session is held each year and it is open to all interested civil society participants of the CSIPM. At the Forum the common positions to be presented at the CFS Plenary Session are discussed and finalised. The Forum is also a space for accountability, where CC members report about their work, performance and activities.
Below you will find useful information to participate in both the CSIPM Forum and the 50th Session of the Committee on World Food Security (CFS).
CSIPM Forum
The CSIPM Forum will take place on Sunday 9 October 2022 in a hybrid format at the Oly Hotel, Rome from 9:30 to 18:30 (Rome time CEST) and online.
ONLINE PARTICIPATION
The CSIPM Forum will consist of three main parts. The first and second (from 10:00 to 15:30), are internal CSIPM sessions where only Civil Society and Indigenous Peoples’ organizations can participate, either physically or virtually.
The second part of the Forum will allow the interaction of the online participants and those physically in Rome. The other sessions of the Forum will be webcasted.
The third session (from 16:30 to 18:00), is a Panel Discussion open to member states, UN agencies and CFS participants.

- 10:00-12:30 – Webcast – Internal to CSIPM participants. In the first moment of analysis and strategy, delegates from CSIPM Working Groups and the CC will report from and assess the main processes in CFS
- 14:00-15:30 – Zoom call – Internal to CSIPM participants. In the Synthesis session, participants will discuss interactively the key messages to the CFS 50
- 16:30-18:00 – Webcast – Open to non CSIPM participants. Panel Discussion with the CFS Chair and the UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Food

If you have registered for the CFS plenary session and informed the CSIPM Secretariat that you will be coming in person, we have automatically included you in the list of participants for the CSIPM Forum. You should have received a confirmation from us. We will send you details on how to reach the hotel as soon as possible. If you have registered for the CFS plenary, we have been informed that the CFS Secretariat will send you a confirmation before Friday, October 7.

CFS PLENARY
The 50th Session of the Committee on World Food Security (CFS) will be held from 10 to 13 October 2022.
CFS 50 will feature a full-day ministerial segment on coordinating policy responses to the global food crisis – The State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World 2022; endorse newly agreed Policy Recommendations on Promoting Youth Engagement and Employment in Agriculture and Food Systems for Food Security and Nutrition; and include a Global Thematic Event on the CFS Principles for Responsible Investment in Agriculture and Food Systems. Additionally, the Plenary will celebrate the International Day of Rural Women and will decide the next steps for the Gender process. The Plenary will also review the work of CFS and its HLPE-FSN toward 2030; and kickstart the workstream on data collection and analysis for food security and nutrition.
