The Women and Gender Diversities Working Group of the Civil Society and Indigenous Peoples’ Mechanism (CSIPM) for relations with the CFS warmly invites you to the online launch of the toolkit We Exist: A Toolkit for Gender Equality and the Right to Food, taking place on 31 March, from 13:00 to 14:30 (Rome time).
Register in advance: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/75DfmXH5SbWbN8VovqoLIw
Interpretation to Spanish, French and English will be ensured.
Across territories, social movements, civil society and Indigenous Peoples’ organisations are actively working to advance the right to food and gender equality. This webinar aims to connect these experiences with policy tools such as the CFS Gender Guidelines.
About the toolkit
The toolkit was developed with the financial and technical support of CSIPM participant organisations. It reflects years of collective advocacy by social movements, civil society and Indigenous Peoples’ organisations participating at the CFS through the CSIPM. It also builds on contributions to the CFS policy process that led to the endorsement of the CFS Guidelines on Gender Equality and Women’s and Girls’ Empowerment (CFS GEWGE) in October 2023.
The toolkit seeks to bring both the collective experience and the CFS policy document closer to the territories, so they can be used to strengthen ongoing struggles on the ground.
About the webinar
This webinar will provide a space to:
- Share experiences from territories and local contexts
- Reflect on how the CFS Gender Guidelines can support local or national efforts to advance gender equality and the right to food
- Foster dialogue across different actors working on gender equality and the right to food
- Reflect on how to advance gender justice across global policy and decision making spaces.
