For smallholder farmers, pastoralists, fisherfolk, Indigenous Peoples, food workers, landless, women, youth, consumers, and urban food-insecure populations resilience is their lived reality. As rightsholders, they are the experts of resilience: peasants’ agroecological systems of production, and Indigenous Peoples’ food systems, shaped by generations of knowledge have consistently demonstrated sustainability and adaptability to the territorial specificities and ecosystems in which they are embedded.
The CSIPM working group on Building Resilient Food Systems, provides a space to engage in advocacy, share knowledge, and develop proposals based on the experiences of the various constituencies that converge in the CSIPM. Together, participants work to articulate a joint position in the CFS political process on Building Resilient Food Systems.
This CSIPM policy working group facilitates the participation of civil society and Indigenous Peoples organisations in the CFS policy convergence process on Building Resilient Food Systems which will develop a set of policy recommendations that will be endorsed in the CFS Plenary 54 in October 2026.
