The increasing depopulation of rural areas is an issue often connected to exploitation, indecent working conditions in agriculture, low farmers income and rising inequalities. By joining this CSIPM working group, you can engage in the advocacy for urban and peri-urban food systems that can benefit both populations, promote a deeper understanding of the impacts of urbanization and create sustainable solutions for a better future for all.
This CSIPM policy working group facilitates the participation of civil society and Indigenous Peoples organizations in the CFS policy convergence process on Strengthening urban and peri-urban food systems to achieve food security and nutrition in the context of urbanization and rural transformation, which will develop a set of policy recommendations throughout 2025.
