The Youth Working Group is the CSM space of articulation and convergence of youth visions, struggles, expectations, demands, ambitions and political engagement towards CFS policy processes and CSM initiatives. As youth, members of this Working Group demand recognition as protagonists in history, who are capable and are already working to craft a better future. For them, 2030 is just too late: “Now is the time to transform! Now is the time to recognize youth autonomy and agency!”

In 2019, the UN Committee on World Food Security (CFS) agreed to engage into a policy process to deliver Policy Recommendations on “Promoting youth engagement and employment in agriculture and food systems”. This policy outcome is expected to be endorsed by October 2022. The Youth Working Group will be therefore leading CSM’s engagement into this global policy process.
