The CFS Collaborative Governance Dialogues are part of the CFS workstream on Collaborative Governance for Coordinated Policy Responses to Emerging Global Food Crises Towards Sustainable Agriculture and Food System Transformation. A four-year thematic workstream that aims at identifying signs of emerging food crises and actions to address them in line with longer-term objectives of food systems transformation and the progressive realisation of the right to adequate food in the context of national food security.
The Collaborative Governance Dialogue on “Affordability of Healthy Diets” will provide a space to exchange experiences and perspectives on the affordability of healthy diets, with a focus on advancing coordinated, people-centered policy responses.
It will offer an opportunity to:
- Share experiences from different territories and contexts
- Reflect on governance and policy challenges related to the affordability of healthy diets
- Exchange diverse perspectives across constituencies of the food systems
- Identify collaborative approaches to strengthen food security and nutrition
- Engage with policymakers, experts, and practitioners in an inclusive setting
This event will take place on Thursday, 7 May 2026, from 15:00 to 18:00 (CEST), bringing together participants in Geneva (Palais des Nations), Rome (World Food Programme headquarters), and online. More information will soon be available at the CFS website https://www.fao.org/cfs/en/
About the CFS workstream on Collaborative Governance for Coordinated Policy Responses to Emerging Global Food Crises Towards Sustainable Agriculture and Food System Transformation
This CFS workstream will not have a negotiated outcome but foresees two bi-annual dialogues to discuss the evolving situation of food security and nutrition, share experiences and information on existing initiatives, and address key issues related to improved policy coordination and collaborative governance, giving particular attention to the voices of most affected constituencies and countries. The outcomes of the meetings will be presented in a summary report by the CFS Chair, and contribute to informing the CFS Plenary debate on the “State of food security in the world”.
For the CSIPM these dialogues are a key opportunity to shed light on the structural causes of food insecurity and malnutrition, beyond the consensus-based negotiations. As an open platform, the dialogue allows for direct testimony, and knowledge-sharing, particularly from constituencies most affected by conflict and food insecurity.
