🌍 Calling all youth to join to learn from the experiences of young food representatives in international food governance spaces and to discuss the importance of youth participation in food governance 🌎

Together with Dutch (UN) youth representatives on Biodiversity and Food, the CSIPM, FIAN International, and IPES-Food we are hosting an online dialogue on September 12, 2024, to discuss the history of youth participation in international food governance, what youth participation in global food governance currently looks like, and how we can strengthen these participatory mechanisms for youth engagement. The event is by and for youth but anyone can join in to listen to these youth perspectives.

🗓️12th of September

⏰10:00 (EST) | 14:00 (UTC) |16:00 (CEST)  | 17:00 (EAT)| 19:30 (IST) | 22:00 (UTC+8). The webinar will last 2.5 hours.

🗣️ English, Spanish, and French with simultaneous interpretation.

What to expect from this webinar?

Expect to hear knowledge-sharing sessions from young people active in food governance, as well as specialists from other generations, and to participate in a panel Q&A, and a facilitated dialogue.

We aim to bring together young people active in international food governance and researchers on this topic from diverse perspectives to engage in a dialogue on what is required for youth to participate meaningfully. We look forward to a productive exchange that builds both the capacity for youth to assess their access to decision-making and express their needs, as well as a bridge between different fora in which youth have been engaged so far.

The perspectives shared can serve as guidance on meaningful and strengthened youth participation in international food governance and a springboard for advocacy on changing existing structures for the better.
