On May 28, 2025, the Civil Society and Indigenous Peoples’ Mechanism (CSIPM) and the International Panel of Experts on Sustainable Food Systems (IPES-Food) co-organized the webinar Strengthening Food Security and Resilience through Territorial Markets in Urban and Peri-Urban Areas.
Held in the context of the UN Committee on World Food Security (CFS) policy convergence process on urban and peri-urban food systems, the event brought together speakers from CSIPM and IPES-Food to exchange insights on the potential and challenges of territorial markets in these settings.
Moderated by Susan Chomba (IPES-Food), the webinar attracted over 120 participants from diverse backgrounds, regions and sectors, fostering a rich and engaging discussion.

The experience from the Asia-Pacific region was brought by Shalmali Guttal (Focus on the Global South, IPES-Food, CSIPM).
